Key features

  • One piece cast bracket replaces a fabricated sheet metal and rivet assembly, removing crevices where moisture and soil can collect during steam sterilization.
  • 17-4PH H900 provides the strength needed for repeated latch actuation. We offer 316L where maximum corrosion resistance is the priority.
  • We finish machine the pivot bore and spring seat on 5-axis equipment. This keeps the latch closing with consistent preload over thousands of cycles.
  • Passivation per ASTM A967 removes free iron from machined surfaces and stabilizes the passive layer against autoclave condensate.
  • Moreover, casting lets us integrate reinforcing ribs, spring retention features and mounting bosses without extra parts.

Applications

  • Latch brackets for rigid sterilization containers and instrument trays
  • Lid closure and locking brackets for hospital sterile supply containers
  • Generally, Spring loaded catch bodies for transport and storage cases
  • Retention brackets for endoscope and instrument sterilization trays
  • Latch hardware for sterile barrier systems used in central sterile services departments

Quality & compliance

Moreover, Ningbo Ruican is certified to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Additionally, we deliver brackets with EN 10204 3.1 material documentation on request. Honest scope statement: Ningbo Ruican is not an ISO 13485 contract
manufacturer; it supplies project-level ISO 13485 documentation under the customer’s Quality Agreement,
covering 17-4PH H900/H1025, AISI 420 and AISI 316L with ISO 10993-5 support. Sterilization cycle validation and
device regulatory approval remain the responsibility of the container manufacturer.

FAQ

Which grade survives repeated steam autoclave cycles best?

316L is generally preferred for brackets exposed to steam and condensate because of its molybdenum bearing
corrosion resistance. Where higher strength or wear resistance at the pivot is needed, 17-4PH H1025 offers a
balanced alternative and H900 gives the highest strength.

Can you cast the spring seat in one piece?

Yes. Spring seats, pivot bosses and mounting feet are cast in the same piece and then finish machined, which
reduces part count and removes the fastener joints that typically loosen over time.

How is corrosion resistance verified?

Material verification is performed by XRF on every lot, passivation is done per ASTM A967, and salt spray
or humidity exposure testing can be arranged as part of the customer validation plan.

Do you offer cycle testing support?

Ningbo Ruican supports cycle and load testing during development by supplying sample batches and dimensional
reports before and after exposure, with the formal validation performed by the customer.

Can you laser mark part numbers?

Yes. Permanent laser marking of part number, heat-lot code and revision is available and is included in the
traceability record.
