The wire rope sheave redirects the hoist rope between the drum, boom tip and load block on every crane and hoist. It spins under the full rated load on every lift, and the rope groove carries the contact pressure that eventually wears the groove profile \u2014 a worn groove crushes the rope and shortens its service life dramatically. Ningbo Ruican manufactures crane wire rope sheaves in QT450-10 ductile iron by investment casting. The casting produces the sheave disc, hub and rope groove as one sound piece, and the groove is then CNC machined to the exact rope diameter profile (typically 30\u201360\u00b0 groove angle with radius per OEM drawing). For heavy-duty applications the groove can be induction hardened to 40\u201348 HRC to resist rope indentation, while the hub bore is machined to H7\u2013H8 for smooth rotation on the shaft or bearing.<\/p>\n
