Key Features
- Dense, gas-free casting structure that holds pressure without impregnation, verified by 100% leak testing on the line.
- Rotor chamber, gear pocket, relief valve bore and pressure gallery cast near net shape to shorten machining cycles.
- CNC bored and finished sealing faces and shaft bores to hold volumetric efficiency across the operating speed range.
- Wall thickness and rib layout optimised to reduce pressure pulsation noise and housing deflection under peak oil pressure.
- Integral mounting pads, bracket feet, filter head flanges and sensor ports cast in to cut part count and fasteners.
- 17-4PH or induction-hardened wear faces available where the rotor or gear runs directly against the housing.
Applications
- Heavy-duty diesel engines in long-haul trucks, construction trucks and mining haul units.
- Bus and coach engines, including generator sets for mobile power.
- Pickup, light truck and passenger car gasoline and diesel engines.
- Off-highway engines in agricultural tractors, combines, excavators and loaders.
- Marine auxiliary engines, stationary generator sets and compressor packages.
- Battery-electric platform thermal management and e-axle oil circulation pumps.
Quality & Compliance
Ningbo Ruican produces oil pump housings under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certification. Each casting is traceable to its heat lot and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certification, with IMDS support for OEM material data submission. PPAP Level 3 documentation, including the FAIR, dimensional layout, control plan, PFMEA and capability study, is issued before series release. Inspection options include 100% air decay or hydrostatic pressure-tightness testing to the customer’s acceptance limit, CMM measurement of the rotor chamber and port geometry, X-ray examination of the pressure boundary and core junctions, and fluorescent penetrant inspection on stainless and 17-4PH grades.
FAQ
What pressure do you test the housings at?
We test to the limit stated on your drawing, typically 1.5 times the maximum working pressure, using air decay or hydrostatic methods. Every result is logged and linked to the part serial or lot number.
Can you guarantee no leakage without resin impregnation?
Yes. Our gating and feeding design targets a sound pressure boundary, and impregnation is not used as a routine fix. If a leak appears at test, the casting is scrapped and the root cause is addressed in tooling or process.
Which material do you recommend for a diesel oil pump body?
1020 or 1045 carbon steel covers most diesel applications. Where the pump runs in a corrosive or high-temperature environment, or where the customer wants a machined sealing face with no coating, 316L stainless is the usual upgrade.
How do you control rotor chamber clearance?
The chamber is CNC bored and, where required, honed, then measured with a CMM or air gauge. Capability data on the bore diameter and depth is included in the PPAP submission.
Do you supply the relief valve bore and ports machined?
Yes. Inlet, outlet and relief valve ports are drilled, tapped and deburred in-house, and the relief valve bore is finished to your fit requirement.
Can you support a sample-based development?
Yes. Send a sample housing or a 3D scan and we will build the tooling, produce samples and provide a full first article report for your validation testing.
