Key features

  • Cast bracket geometry puts metal only where the load path runs, giving a stiffer bracket than a flame-cut plate assembly at the same weight.
  • Roller pin bore and bush seat are CNC machined in one setup, so the roller stays square to the track under side load.
  • Cast carbon steel to ASTM A216 WCB covers general deck service; A352 LCC is available for low-temperature and arctic trading.
  • AISI 316L and duplex 2205 versions are supplied for exposed decks where de-icing salt and cargo dust drive corrosion.
  • Integrally cast grease boss and lubrication drilling keep the roller pin fed without an add-on pipework assembly.
  • Dimensional consistency across a batch means spare brackets install without fitting or shimming on site.

Applications

  • Moreover, Side-rolling and folding hatch cover roller assemblies on bulk carriers and general cargo vessels
  • Generally, Hatch cover guide and centre-line roller brackets on dredgers and hopper barges
  • Ro-ro ramp and hatch roller brackets on ferries and ro-ro cargo vessels
  • Deck crane and gantry roller brackets on offshore support and construction vessels
  • Naval and patrol vessel deck hatches and weapons-handling access covers
  • Superyacht tender garage and deck hatch roller hardware

Quality and compliance

We cast and machine hatch cover roller brackets at Ningbo Ruican under an IATF 16949 certified quality system built on ISO 9001. We supply every bracket with an EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate tied to its heat lot, giving full traceability from the finished part back to the melt and heat treatment batch. Carbon and low-alloy steel brackets receive magnetic-particle inspection on all section changes and on the machined bore; ultrasonic testing is added for sections above 40 mm where specified on the drawing.

Stainless brackets are examined by dye penetrant testing instead, and all austenitic and duplex parts are pickled and passivated per ASTM A967. Moreover, carbon steel brackets leave the works shot blasted and primed to the specified coating system. Classification-society witness of mechanical testing and NDT (ABS, DNV, LR, BV, ClassNK or RINA) is not a standing type approval held by Ningbo Ruican; it can be arranged on request per project and is quoted as a separate line item.

FAQs

Do you make the roller and pin as well as the bracket?

We focus on the bracket casting and its machining. Where the drawing covers a full assembly, we supply the bracket machined and ready to accept the roller, bush and pin, and can source the bought-out items on request.

What is the difference between WCB and LCC for hatch brackets?

Generally, ASTM A216 WCB is the general-purpose cast carbon steel for normal service temperatures. ASTM A352 LCC carries impact testing at low temperature and is the right choice for vessels trading in arctic or winter North Atlantic conditions.

Can you match an existing hatch cover maker’s bracket?

Yes. Send the original bracket or a drawing with the roller diameter, pin bore, bolt pattern and load rating. We reproduce the interface dimensions so the replacement drops in without modifying the cover or the track.

What coating do you apply to carbon steel brackets?

Additionally, standard supply is shot blast to a specified cleanliness grade followed by an epoxy primer. We can also apply the full marine coating system from your specification, or supply bare machined and primed for the yard to finish.

How many brackets can you produce per month?

In general, capacity depends on size and mix. For a typical 10–40 kg bracket with existing tooling, monthly volume runs into the hundreds; we confirm a realistic schedule against your delivery plan at quotation stage.
