Key features

  • One-piece cast body with an integral 90 degree flow turn, removing a separate elbow and one butt weld from the piping layout.
  • Moreover, Near-net-shape lost wax casting keeps wall thickness uniform through the seat and flow-turn radius, which is the area most prone to thinning in sand cast bodies.
  • Seat pocket, backseat bore and bonnet flange are machined in-house on CNC vertical lathes and 4-axis machining centres, so the stem axis and seat axis stay concentric.
  • Generally, Offered in WCB for steam and general service, CF8M for chemical and marine duty, and 2205 duplex for chloride-bearing, sour and slurry service.
  • Optional 17-4PH H900 seat rings and hardfaced seating surfaces for throttling duty at higher differential pressure.
  • Flange facings produced to ASME B16.5 raised face or ring-type joint, with serrated concentric or spiral-serrated finish as specified.

Applications

  • Steam distribution and turbine bypass lines in power and district heating plants (WCB, class 300 to 600).
  • Boiler feedwater, condensate return and hot water circuits in HVAC and industrial utility systems.
  • Oil and gas gathering, fuel gas skids and refinery utility headers (CF8M or 2205 duplex).
  • Additionally, Chemical and petrochemical process lines carrying acids, caustics and solvents at moderate pressure.
  • Slurry and ash-handling lines where the angle pattern reduces settling in the body cavity.
  • Cryogenic service on LNG, LOX and LIN skids when supplied in CF8M with impact-tested material.

Quality & compliance

Ningbo Ruican operates an IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified quality system. We cast every angle globe valve body from a controlled heat, with full heat-lot traceability from melt to finished part. Additionally, we supply material to ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A351 CF8M or ASTM A995 4A. In general, chemical analysis and mechanical test results go on an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate. Also, we can arrange type 3.2 certification on request.

Non-destructive
examination is available in radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and liquid penetrant form on the pressure
boundary areas, and hydrostatic shell testing plus seat leakage testing to API 598 or ISO 5208 leakage rates is
performed with documented results. Ningbo Ruican does not hold PED or API monogram certification in its own name;
testing, documentation and third-party witness inspection to the applicable standard can be arranged per project.
PPAP or FAIR packages, including dimensional reports, material certificates and NDT records, are available on
request for serial programmes.

FAQs

What size range can you cast for angle globe valve bodies?

Bodies from DN15 to DN100 are normally produced on the silica sol lost wax line, where the tighter ISO 8062 CT4
to CT6 tolerance band reduces machining stock. Larger bodies and bonnets up to roughly 60 kg are produced on the
water glass lost wax line, still with much better surface finish than sand casting.

Can you supply the body fully machined and ready for assembly?

Yes. Most customers buy the body finish machined, with seat pocket, bonnet threads or stud holes, backseat bore
and flange facings completed in-house. We can also deliver rough machined or as-cast blanks if you prefer to do
final seating and assembly yourself.

Which materials do you recommend for steam versus seawater duty?

For saturated or superheated steam up to about 425 degrees Celsius, ASTM A216 WCB is the standard choice and the
most economical. For seawater, brackish water or chloride-bearing process fluid, we recommend CF8M or ASTM A995
4A duplex, which resists pitting and chloride stress corrosion cracking far better than 304 or 316.

What pressure testing do you perform?

Hydrostatic shell testing and seat leakage testing to API 598 or ISO 5208 are done on pressure-boundary
bodies, with test pressure, holding time and acceptance leakage rate recorded on the test report. Third-party
witness by your inspector or an agency you nominate can be arranged for the test.

Do you provide material traceability and certification?

Every casting carries a heat number that links back to the melt, the chemical analysis and the mechanical test
coupons. EN 10204 3.1 certificates are issued as standard, and EN 10204 3.2 documents can be arranged with
third-party verification for projects that require it.

Can you work from our existing drawing or sample?

Yes. Moreover, we quote from your 2D drawing, 3D model or a physical sample. Sample parts are reverse engineered by 3D
scanning, then a tooling and machining proposal is returned with a first-article plan before production tooling
is cut.
