Dental Implant Analog Mount Holder Body

The dental implant analog mount holder body is the fixture that grips an implant analog while a technician builds an abutment, crown or bridge on the laboratory model. It holds the analog at the correct height and anti-rotation orientation, and it is handled constantly under a microscope through repeated wax-up, press and finishing cycles. Fab-welded holders drift out of square, so the analog sits tilted and every prosthetic built on that model inherits the error. Solid-machined holders are accurate but expensive at small size. A one-piece investment casting produces the holder body, the analog seat and the guide flange together, then machines the seat and anti-rotation flat concentric so the analog repeats position within a few microns of the drawing datum.

Key features

  • Analog seat and anti-rotation flat are machined in one datumed setup, holding seat concentricity within 0.02 mm so the analog repeats position on every model.
  • One-piece cast body eliminates the weld joint that tilts fab-built holders, removing the re-squaring operation from the laboratory fixture routecard.
  • Electropolished surface at Ra 0.4 um releases wax, resin and stone debris, cutting the cleaning time between prosthetic build cycles.
  • Cast guide flange and grip knurl come out net shape, removing two milling operations and keeping grain flow continuous at the thin neck.
  • AISI 316L with low carbon chemistry resists the disinfectants, gypsum and saline contact common in a prosthetic laboratory, passivated per ASTM A967.
  • Burr-free internal corners at the seat shoulder, achieved by casting rather than drilling, stop debris packing at the analog interface.
  • First article with CMM report, seat gauge results, surface finish measurement and photographs before any production release.

Applications

  • Laboratory analog holder bodies for implant-level and abutment-level prosthetic workflows.
  • Multi-unit and angled analog mount fixtures for screw-retained bridge models.
  • Diagnostic wax-up and silicone index holders in implant planning kits.
  • Chairside and laboratory torque fixture bodies for implant analog assembly.
  • Implant system demonstration and training model holder sets.
  • Dental school and technician training bench fixtures for restorative courses.

Quality & compliance

Ningbo Ruican is not an ISO 13485 contract manufacturer. It supplies cast and CNC-machined components in 17-4PH (H900/H1025), AISI 420 and AISI 316L together with project-level documentation under the customer’s Quality Agreement, including material traceability and ISO 10993-5 biocompatibility test support. Every holder body lot ships with EN 10204 3.1 material certification, heat lot records, furnace charts where heat treatment is applied, a hardness survey and dimensional reports against the approved drawing. Process control, non-conformance handling and change control follow the customer’s documented requirements rather than a claimed device QMS registration.

FAQ

Can you reproduce a holder from an existing analog mount sample?

Yes. Send the sample holder together with the implant platform specification, and we reverse scan the body, generate a parametric 3D model, and return it with a DFM review before tooling. We confirm the analog seat and anti-rotation geometry against your platform drawing so the rebuilt model matches the interface you already use.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We quote from prototype and pilot quantities upward, using one tooling set for early builds and adding cavities as volume grows. Small bodies like this are often ganged in a multi-cavity tool from the start, which lowers piece price without requiring a large first order.

What documentation is included with each shipment?

Each shipment carries EN 10204 3.1 material certification, heat lot records, heat treatment furnace charts where applicable, a hardness survey and a dimensional report at the sampling rate in the Quality Agreement. Surface finish measurements and first article reports are included at qualification and on request thereafter.

Can you hold H900 hardness on the 17-4PH version?

Where the holder is specified in 17-4PH we age to H900 or H1025 in a calibrated furnace with load thermocouples and record the chart with the lot. Hardness is surveyed on the grip and seat features and reported; H900 typically reads 38-42 HRC, and any deviation is dispositioned through your non-conformance process.

Do you passivate or electropolish these holders?

Passivation per ASTM A967 is standard on all 316L holder bodies, followed by a deionized water rinse and dry before packing. Electropolishing to Ra 0.4 um is available where a smoother debris-shedding surface is specified, and laser marking is applied after finishing so it survives repeated cleaning.
